How the Penny verdict works
We compare the current advertised maximum with the average of earlier daily maximums in the last 30 calendar days. For an all-seller verdict, only days with exactly the same sellers are comparable. At least seven prior days and a comparable observation within three days are required.
“Buy now” means a discount at least 0.5 percentage points or 10% of the prior average higher, whichever is greater. “Consider waiting” means the same amount lower. Anything between is typical. The chart’s average includes all displayed observations; the verdict’s prior average excludes the current day and mismatched seller coverage.
This is historical shopping guidance, not a prediction of future prices. Missing, failed, and stale observations are excluded. Restricted card variants have their own histories. We keep daily snapshots and display up to 90 days.
